IOP

Intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a short term treatment program designed to provide more intensive and comprehensive care than traditional outpatient therapy, while allowing individuals to live at home and maintain their daily responsibilities. Its typically offered as a step-down option for individuals who have completed a more intensive level of care, such as inpatient or residential treatment, or for those who require more support than what regular outpatient therapy can provide. They can also be a starting point for individuals who do not require a higher level of care but still need structured and intensive treatment.

Individuals  attend therapy sessions three times a week for several hours each day. The specific schedule and duration of the program may vary depending on the  needs of the individual but usually range from 5-8 weeks. The program's main focus is group therapy but may also involve individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, psychoeducation, and other therapeutic interventions. The goal of our IOP is to provide ongoing support, develop coping skills for individuals struggling with mental health issues, help individuals integrate the skills learned in treatment into their daily lives, and coordinate care with other healthcare providers. Overall, IOP offers a structured and supportive environment for individuals seeking treatment while still maintaining their daily routines and responsibilities. They provide a balance between the structure and support of residential treatment and the flexibility of outpatient therapy.

ACAP is excited to begin its IOP in 2023 and is optimistic it will be a place for healing for our community. Our IOP will accept numerous insurance plans and will offer evening services for individuals who work during the day.
